Firefox Users Are Up to Date
A recent study shows that people who use Firefox are usually the ones who have the most recent version of their browser.
Using the latest version of your web browser means being more secure, and probably the best features, too. Overall, about 60 percent of all web surfers are currently using the most updated version of their browser.
Firefox, users went all the way all the way up to 83 percent of users on the most recent version of their browser, whereas only 65 percent of safari users had the most updated version, 53 percent for Opera users, and a wimpy 48 percent of internet explorer users.
However, Internet explorer has 1.1 billion users or 78 percent of the whole web browser market share, although it has an advantage being bundled with the most used OS. Compared to 227 million users of Firefox or 16 percent, 48 million or 3.4 percent of Safari and 11 million or a mere 0.8 percent for Opera.
The study we based our numbers off of is the one conducted by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in collaboration with IBM and Google and took place between Jan. 2007 and June 2008.
Firefox 3 is said to of boosted the number of Firefox users up to 19% of all web users.
